Avatars, Explainers and Business Uses
Avatar videos
Avatar tools generate a presenter speaking your script, useful for training, onboarding, internal updates and product explainers. Write scripts for speech: short sentences, natural phrasing, clear structure.
Localisation
Many tools translate and dub videos into other languages, sometimes with lip-sync. Have a native speaker review translations before publishing; machine translation can be wrong in ways that embarrass a brand.
Business use cases
- Product feature walkthroughs (screen recordings plus an avatar or voice-over).
- Course and training content at scale.
- Personalised sales videos (with care not to deceive).
- Ad variations for testing different hooks.
Ethical and legal limits
- Never create a likeness of a real person without their explicit, informed consent, and never in misleading contexts.
- Do not make content that could pass as real news footage or real events.
- Disclose AI-generated presenters where platforms, laws or reasonable viewer expectations require it.
- Check each tool's terms on commercial use, ownership of outputs and data retention.
Keeping videos up to date
Product explainers go stale when the interface changes. Keep scripts and project files organised so you can regenerate one section rather than the whole video, and note the app version each video shows.
Exercise
Write a 60-second explainer script for a web app feature, produce it with an avatar or AI voice over screen recordings, localise it into one other language, and have the translation checked.
