Content Marketing and SEO

30 دقيقة

Why content

Before people buy, they search. Content marketing means publishing useful material (articles, guides, examples, short videos) that answers the questions your customers already ask. It builds trust, gets you found and keeps working long after it is published.

Search engine optimisation (SEO)

SEO is the work of helping search engines understand and rank your pages. Three parts:

  1. Technical: the site loads fast, works on phones, uses HTTPS, has clear page titles and a sitemap, and has no broken links.
  2. On-page: each page targets one topic and answers it well, with a clear title, headings, and the words people actually search for.
  3. Authority: other trusted sites link to you, and people find your pages useful (reviews, mentions, local listings).

Keywords and search intent

A keyword is what people type. Intent is why they type it:

Intent Example search Best content
Informational "how to take online bookings for a clinic" A helpful guide
Commercial "best booking software for small clinics" A comparison or case study
Transactional "web developer for dental clinic near me" A service page with prices and a clear contact step

Start with long, specific phrases (long-tail keywords): fewer people search them, but they are easier to rank for and closer to buying. Free tools such as Google Search Console show which searches already bring people to your site.

Local SEO

For local customers, set up and complete a Google Business Profile: correct name, address, phone, hours, services, photos, and replies to reviews. Keep the same name, address and phone everywhere online. Ask happy customers for reviews; they influence both rankings and decisions.

Writing content people use

  • Answer one question per piece, completely.
  • Lead with the answer, then the detail.
  • Use real examples, screenshots, numbers and costs where you can.
  • End with a relevant next step ("Want this for your business? Get a fixed price in 2 minutes.").
  • Update old content instead of only adding new.

A simple content plan

  • One in-depth guide or case study per month.
  • Repurpose it: a short social post, an email to subscribers, and a short video.
  • Track which pieces bring visitors and leads, then do more of what works.

Exercise

List ten questions customers ask you before they buy. Group them by intent, pick one, and outline an article that answers it, with a title, three headings and a call to action.

Check yourself

  • Name the three parts of SEO.
  • What is search intent, and why does it decide what kind of page you write?
  • What should a complete Google Business Profile include?
